We are excited to introduce our integrated AI chat feature, designed to enhance your experience when navigating computing and storage options within MetaCentrum. This powerful tool provides instant support and guidance through two distinct models: Local Search and Problem Solver. Below, you’ll find essential information and tips on how to effectively utilize this AI chat for optimal results.

Understanding the AI Chat Models

  • Purpose: This model is specifically tailored to explore and retrieve information from MetaCentrum’s local documentation.
  • Usage: To activate the Local Search, ensure your queries are structured as direct questions ending with a question mark (?). For example:
    What are the available storage options in MetaCenter for large datasets?
  • Benefits: It provides precise answers related to our platform’s documentation, ensuring you find relevant internal resources quickly.

Problem Solver

  • Functionality: The Problem Solver is a versatile language model equipped with general knowledge and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Use Cases:
    • Error Troubleshooting: Users can input error messages or describe issues they encounter during their computing tasks, and the AI will assist in identifying potential solutions.
    • Script Assistance: It can aid in creating or debugging qsub commands or bash scripts for job submissions.
    • General Queries: Feel free to ask any questions related to computing practices, as the model is trained to provide helpful responses based on common knowledge.
  • Context Awareness: The Problem Solver operates within a predefined context, allowing it to deliver accurate and relevant solutions without searching the local documentation.

Here are some tips to help you get the best results from the AI chat:

  • Be Specific and Clear Clearly define your problem or question. For example, instead of “I have an issue with my script,” try “How can I fix a ‘permission denied’ error in my bash script for job submission?”.
  • Utilize Keywords Include relevant keywords related to your query. Keywords help the AI understand the context and provide more accurate responses. For example, “MetaCenter storage quota increase request process.”
  • Provide Necessary Details When seeking help with errors or scripts, share the exact error messages, code snippets, or specific commands you are working with. This enables the Problem Solver to offer tailored solutions.
  • Ask One Question at a Time For complex topics, break down your queries into multiple questions. This approach ensures each question receives focused attention from the AI.

How to Start the AI Chat Window

To begin using the AI chat, locate the chat icon Ask GPT AI positioned in the bottom-right corner of your screen.
Click the icon to open the chat window.

Note: Access to the chat requires authentication using your university account or MetaCenter account. A valid MetaCentrum account is required.
